An apple galette, tea, chocolate and salted caramel macron, coffee, cheeses, wines and then the highlights - local produce at the hip eateries, Ethos Eat Drink and Sidecar. It was so cool that each component of the dishes could be explained by their source and there was also a story behind each producer too. The butter at Ethos was amazing. So soft and creamy - with yoghurt as its secret ingredient!
Being on a tour also meant that you had an instant rapport with the staff who were so passionate about the Tasmanian food industry.
So, when in Tassie, do yourself a favour and join Mary on a tour. She is a Hobart local and has worked in the industry in various forms for a number of years and has great connections.
